Daniel Dubois to take on Anthony Joshua for vacant IBF title after Usyk’s departure

It has been confirmed that Daniel Dubois will face off against Anthony Joshua in a highly-anticipated all-British clash for the IBF world heavyweight title at Wembley on September 21.

This showdown comes after Oleksandr Usyk’s recent decision to vacate the belt.

Dubois, as the IBF’s mandatory challenger, will step into the ring against Joshua in what promises to be a thrilling battle for the coveted title.

Usyk’s departure marks the end of his historic reign as the first heavyweight to simultaneously hold the IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC belts.

In a gracious gesture, he expressed, “Anthony and Daniel, listen.

I know the IBF title is important to you. It is my present to you on September 21,” in a video shared on social media.

The last heavyweight to unify the major belts before Usyk was Britain’s Lennox Lewis in 1999.

With Joshua boasting 28 victories and three losses in his career, and Dubois with an impressive record of 21 wins in 23 fights, fans can expect an electrifying match-up between these two talented fighters.
