Kano Gov’t distributes presidential palliatives to vulnerable residents across 44 LGA

The Kano State Government has commenced the distribution of presidential palliatives to vulnerable individuals across all 44 local government areas.

The gesture, courtesy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, involves the disbursement of 2,706 metric tons of essential commodities, including maize, millet, sorghum, and garri.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) facilitated the delivery of these items, which aligns with the President’s commitment to alleviating the economic hardship faced by citizens.

The distribution plan allocates 969 metric tons of maize, 1,320 metric tons of sorghum, and 417 metric tons of millet to be shared equitably across the local government areas.

Religious institutions will receive 20% of the food provisions, while 3% will go to boarding schools. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf assured that the state government will adhere to the federal government’s directives and warned against any diversion or malpractice during the distribution process.

The Governor expressed gratitude to the President for the generous donation and appealed for continued support for the people of Kano State.
