London woman missing after Lagos Airport taxi ride
A 67-year-old woman from London, by name Janet Kwalmi Ere, has gone missing moments after her arrival at Nigeria’s busiest airport, Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja Lagos.
Chairman of Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray Bruce, disclosed this in a post on his verified X handle, @benmurraybruce.
He stated in a post on Sunday, June 2, 2024 that the woman fondly called Aunty Janet arrived at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport from London on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 5am.
According to Bruce, the woman boarded an airport taxi at 6am and has not been seen or heard from since then. “If anyone has any useful information, please contact Julie at 08037870683 or Precious at 07080214687,” Ben Bruce pleaded.
The post reads in part: “I urge the Managing Director of @FAAN_Official, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku (@faan_md), to take all necessary steps to ensure Madam Janet is found. I call on the MD to immediately instruct that all CCTV footage at Murtala Muhammad Airport in Lagos be diligently reviewed.
“We must track the taxi Madam Janet used to leave the airport. Since all taxis at the airport are expected to be registered, identifying the vehicle she entered will help us locate the driver and potentially find her. The outfit in the picture is what Madam Janet wore on that fateful day.
“All authorities need to act swiftly on this matter. I also commit right now, a reward of N1million (One Million Naira) to anyone who comes forward with information that can reveal the identity of the driver. Silverbird will pay the reward instantly.”
