Military begins electronic verification exercise for veterans Monday
The Military Pension Board (MPB) announced that the electronic verification exercise for military veterans will start on July 1, 2024, and run until September 30, 2024.
MPB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Paul Irumheson explained that the shift from physical to electronic verification aims to mitigate security risks and reduce travel costs for elderly and overseas pensioners.
The pilot test in February 2024 was successful, with only 15 out of 2000 participants failing. The exercise is now set to proceed with full-scale implementation.

Retired military officers must participate in the verification to continue receiving their pensions. The MPB will provide public awareness and education on the process.
Key Points:
– Start Date: July 1, 2024
– End Date: September 30, 2024
– Reason: Security, travel costs, and convenience
– Participation: Mandatory for continued pension benefits
The MPB encourages all eligible veterans to take part in this crucial exercise.
