Neptune Prime CEO/Publisher, Dr Hassan Gimba, has been inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Dr Gimba, a seasoned journalist, columnist and author, was inducted as a member of the institute alongside other communication specialists, diplomats, and media experts during an induction ceremony held at NTA Arena, Garki Abuja, on Thursday.
The NIPR is celebrating its 60th diamond anniversary with the induction of 605 new members and an array of events that will end on June 27, 2024, with an International Colloquium at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
Speaking shortly after taking the NIPR oath of professional and ethical allegiance, Dr Gimba said his induction into the reputable Institute of Public Relations marks an important step in his professional journey.
He affirms that the additional professional badge will solidify his commitment to excellence and to showcase Neptune Prime’s professionalism, versatility and expertise in the communication sector.
Earlier in his speech, Special Guest of honour, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, fnipr, Minister of Information and National Orientation, who was represented by DG, Voice of Nigeria, Mr Jibril Baba Ndace, anipr, urged the public relations practitioners to uphold their responsibilities of portraying Nigeria in a positive light, he charged them to believe in the country as the present administration is committed to building and repositioning the nation for greatness
He said, “Truly, there are challenges in the country, but everything will soon be sorted out thanks to the renewed agenda of President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
“Don’t be the driver of negative narrative about the country. I charge you to collaborate with the Ministry of Information in restoring public trust and advancing the development of Nigeria.
Speaking during the induction, the NIPR President Dr Ike Neliaku, urged the new inductees and fellows of the Institute to uphold the highest professional standard and integrity, he said the second phase of the special induction ceremony will hold on Thursday, July 11, 2024 for the rest of the inductees.
Media professionals and dignitaries present at the event include; DG, Nigeria Television Authority, Mr Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, fnipr; chairman, Enforcement and Compliance Committee, Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade (Rtd), fnipr; DG, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Dr Mohammed Bulama, mnipr, and DG, News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Ali Muhammed Ali, mnipr.
Others are national president, Radio, Television, Theatre Arts Workers Union, Comrade Kabir Garba Tsanni; DG, National Orientation Agency, Mr Lanre Issa Onilu, anipr; chairman, Daar Communication, Chief Raymond Paul Dokpesi jnr, national president, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, anipr, and president, Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, Ms Maureen Chigbo.
