NFF considers Marc Brys as potential head coach for Super Eagles

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is allegedly looking into the possibility of the current Cameroon national team coach, Marc Brys, stepping in as the new head coach for the Super Eagles following Finidi George’s resignation.

According to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Brys has faced challenges with Samuel Eto’o, the head of the Cameroon Football Association.

Despite these conflicts, Brys was recently reinstated just before the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The 62-year-old coach hasn’t denied the rumors linking him to the vacant coaching position for Nigeria. Brys expressed contentment with his role with the Indomitable Lions even amid disagreements with the Fecafoot president.

Having previously coached various teams, including Germinal Beerschot and KV Mechelen, Brys is under consideration by the NFF to bring in a foreign technical adviser for the Super Eagles due to their current performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
