The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board announced on Sunday that investigations conducted by Saudi Arabian authorities revealed that one of their pilgrims died by suicide in Madina.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Abdulsalam AbdulKabir, confirmed the tragic incident, stating that another pilgrim from the state also passed away in Madina.
The deceased female pilgrim was identified as Hajia Hawawu Mohammed.
According to Saudi authorities, her death was attributed to a suicidal incident on the rooftop of her apartment in Madina.
Another pilgrim, Saliu Mohammed, died in an intensive care unit of a public hospital in Madina after suddenly falling ill.
The board expressed sadness over the loss of the two pilgrims and acknowledged Allah’s ultimate wisdom in all matters.
They extended their condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for their comfort and forgiveness.
The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board also offered sympathies to the families of the deceased pilgrims who passed away in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
