Police in Adamawa apprehend 2 suspected kidnappers with multiple sim cards
The Adamawa State Police have successfully apprehended two individuals suspected to be part of a notorious kidnapping gang operating in Taraba and Adamawa States.
The arrests were made by diligent police operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba following reports of kidnap threats received by a victim.
The Adamawa State Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects, identified as Abuchi G. Ayogo, aged 32, and David Francis, aged 33, are residents of Garin Gidado Village in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, as per SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Information released by Nguroje revealed that on the 28th of May 2024, the Command received a report from Kinsley Eze, a resident of Gurin in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa.
Eze recounted receiving multiple threatening calls from unknown numbers, demanding a ransom of N3 million under the threat of kidnapping and harm.

“The Operatives of the Command immediately commenced investigation leading to the arrest of two suspects involved in the kidnap, kill and unlawful demands.
“Interestingly, both of them confessed to committing the crime, adding that they are part of a notorious kidnapping gang operating in Taraba and part of Adamawa State,” the spokesman said.
He explained that a significant number of sim cards of various GSM networks and handsets were recovered from them, adding that the items were treated as exhibits.
Nguroje also said the arrest of these two suspected kidnappers underscores the unwavering commitment of the command in eradicating all forms of criminal activities and instilling confidence in the residents of the state.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, while assuring that the suspects would be diligently prosecuted, encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and always provide useful and timely information to security agencies on any suspicious activities in their communities,” the spokesman said.
