Presidency refutes claims of N105,000 minimum wage proposal
The Presidency has firmly denied the circulating reports suggesting that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, along with the Federal Government’s negotiating team had put forward a proposal for a N105,000 minimum wage.
Following the declaration of a nationwide strike by organised labor, the Federal Government engaged in discussions with union leaders and eventually reached an agreement.
The negotiating team later briefed President Bola Tinubu, who instructed the Finance Minister to develop a new minimum wage blueprint within a 48-hours.

During their meeting with the president on Thursday, Edun and his team did not disclose the outcome of the discussion.
Despite speculations that Edun’s team had suggested N105,000 as the new minimum wage, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, dismissed these reports as false.
“The Honorable Minister of Finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage. The contrary story being disseminated is false,” Onanuga tweeted.
