Notably, President Tinubu shifted the inauguration of the FEC to Mondays on August 28, 2023, diverging from the traditional Wednesdays.

According to Information Minister Mohammed Idris on October 16, 2023, the council convenes solely to deliberate on memoranda.

Idris stated, “The President has endorsed the decision to move the Federal Executive Council meeting to Mondays instead of the usual Wednesdays. Now, if there are no pressing matters, the meeting will be rescheduled for the following week.”

Nonetheless, the reason behind the FEC meeting being conducted on a Tuesday remains undisclosed.
