Youths protest EFCC’s raid on nightclubs, demand end to harassmen

Hundreds of youths took to the streets of Akure, Ondo State, on Monday to protest the weekend raid by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on several hotels and event centers in the state capital.

The protesters, armed with placards, converged at the Alagbaka Roundabout and marched through the major streets of the city to express their displeasure over the raid.

The EFCC had on Saturday arrested 127 suspected internet fraudsters during a “Yahoo Party” at Signature and Abah Clubs in the Alagbaka area of Akure.

Armed with placards with various inscriptions, the angry youth converged at the Alagbaka Roundabout of the ancient city, and moved round the major streets of the state capital to register their displeasure over the raid.
