12-year-old girl kills 8-year-old cousin over iPhone
A tragic incident unfolded in Humboldt, Tennessee, where a 12-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of her 8-year-old cousin. The girl is accused of smothering her younger cousin during an argument over an iPhone. The incident, which occurred on July 15, was captured by a security camera in the bedroom the two girls shared.
According to Gibson District Attorney Frederick Agee, the video shows the older child using bedding to suffocate her cousin while she slept in the top bunk. After the crime, the juvenile reportedly cleaned up and repositioned the victim’s body.

A relative revealed that the dispute over the iPhone started after the girls arrived from town to stay with their grandmother.
The child has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Agee has expressed that this case is among the most disturbing his office has handled, and he plans to request that the girl be tried as an adult to ensure a lengthier sentence.
