Nigeria to enhance air surveillance, security – Defence Minister

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has reaffirmed efforts to bolster air surveillance and security across the nation.

Accompanied by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Badaru made these remarks during a strategic visit to Spain aimed at advancing Nigeria’s airspace capabilities.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence’s Director of Information, Henshaw Ogubike, the delegation’s three-day visit to Indra in Spain focused on enhancing Nigeria’s air surveillance through cutting-edge dual-use technology.

Indra, a global leader in technology and consulting, hosted the Nigerian delegation, including CEO Jose Vicente de los Mozos and other senior executives.

The agenda featured demonstrations of advanced systems such as the Air Traffic Control System (ACC APP TWR), Voice Communications System, Radar, and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS).

This strategic collaboration underscores Nigeria’s commitment to adopting global best practices in air surveillance and security.

The partnership with Indra is expected to yield substantial benefits, including enhanced air safety, bolstered border security, and reinforced defence capabilities.
