2 abducted Kaduna journalists, families regain freedom
Two journalists abducted in Kaduna, Abdulgafar Alabelewe of The Nation newspapers and Abduraheem Aodu of Blueprint newspaper, along with their families, have been released.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.
NUJ Kaduna Council Chairman, Asma’u Yawo Halilu, expressed gratitude to everyone involved in securing their release.

“The Council extends her profound gratitude to the office of the CP, Kaduna State Command, office of the NSA, the DG, DSS, the Inspector General of Police, Kaduna State government, the NUJ President, and all well-meaning Nigerians that prayed along with us during the trying time.”
The statement also mentioned plans to reunite with the freed journalists and their families in Kaduna for a celebration of their safe return.
