Dr Okorie lauds APGA NWC, Chief Njoku for appointment as BoT chairman
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Founder, Chief Chekwas Okorie, has commended the National Working Committee (NWC), led by the national chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, for appointing him chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
Delivering his acceptance speech during a press conference at the Peniel Apartments, Abuja on Wednesday, Dr Okorie expressed profound gratitude and honour to the Almighty God and notable party stalwarts for the appointment.
As the founder/pioneer National Chairman of APGA, Chief Okorie recounted how the party was officially registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 2002 when he selflessly set aside personal ambitions to champion the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu as APGA’s presidential candidate for the 2003 elections.
He affirmed his belief that founding a political party without using it as a platform for personal and political benefits was a sacrifice made in the best interest of the party.

Recalling some challenges encountered with the vision, Dr Okorie spoke on the personal trials he endured over the years, including betrayals, persecution, and malicious attacks from those who benefited from his efforts.
He, however, commended the renewed support and compassionate leadership of the party under Chief Njoku, describing the national chairman as a consummate, dedicated member, and a courageous political warrior with great commitments to APGA’s vision.
He pledged his unwavering support and loyalty to the party under the leadership of Chief Edozie as the National Chairman.
