Fire guts Emir Sanusi’s palace, destroys valuables

A suspected arson attack has resulted in a devastating fire that engulfed a palace at Gidan Rumfa, where Muhammadu Sanusi, the 16th Emir of Kano, resides. The incident occurred late Friday night, around 11 pm, at the Kofar Kudu palace section, primarily used for court sessions every Monday.

Initial reports suggest that the perpetrators forcibly entered the palace, set it ablaze, and locked the doors, causing extensive damage to the throne room, air conditioning units, and other valuable items within.
