‘I was shot with a bullet that pierced upper part of my right ear’ – Trump
Donald Trump has confirmed he was shot by a yet-to-be-identified gunman at a presidential rally in Pennsylvania.
In a statement, via his social media handle, after the shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania, noted he was “shot” in the “upper part of my right ear”, and “much bleeding took place”.
In the post on Truth Social, he extended his thanks to the Secret Service and law enforcement for their “rapid response”. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.
Mr Trump continued: “It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.

I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, and shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.” Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
An eyewitness described the incident as “It sounded like firecrackers – it wasn’t a heavy weapon, it was small arms fire. We all hit the ground, people on the bleachers scattered.”
FBI Identifies Trump Shooter
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which is leading investigation into the assassination attempt on the country’s former President Donald Trump, says it has identified the man who shot him at a campaign rally.
“The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the subject involved in the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13, in Butler, Pennsylvania,” the FBI said in a statement cited by the NBC and CBS broadcasters.
It did not release any information about his alleged motive.
“This evening, we had what we are calling an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump. It’s still an active crime scene,” Kevin Rojek, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, said during a press conference.
The shooter is dead, one rally attendee was killed and two other spectators were injured, according to a statement from the Secret Service.
Rojek said the investigation into what happened could take months.
The shooting happened just after Trump took the stage at 6 p.m. local time at a rally in the town of Butler.
“We will continue to support this investigation with the full resources of the FBI, alongside our partners at the U.S. Secret Service and state and local law enforcement,” the FBI said earlier in a statement.
