No peace for drug dealers in Kano — Gov Abba Yusuf

Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf, reacting to the boldness exhibited by some drug dealers who sought legal recourse through court orders for the release of their confiscated illicit drug shipments, said there would be no peace for drug dealers in Kano State.

Yusuf, in a statement by his spokesman, Sunusi Bature, disclosed that he was taken aback by their actions.

Governor Yusuf’s amazement was evident as he discovered that individuals engaged in the illicit drug trade had procured court orders for the release of their seized contrabands.

“He conveyed his profound surprise at the judges who gave such orders, emphasising the severity of the issue at hand.

The governor stressed the crucial necessity for collaboration between the judiciary and the government to save the state from the dangers posed by the the illicit drug traffickers.

Yusuf urged KAROTA to take requisite actions to destroy the confiscated substances.

Reiterating his administration’s unwavering dedication to combating drug smuggling within the state, the governor affirmed governmental assistance to agencies committed to combating drug trafficking and abuse.

Governor Yusuf’s firm position underscores the seriousness of the drug trafficking dilemma and the urgent need for unified endeavours to protect the state from the menace of illicit substances,” the statement reads in part.
