Police arrest suspects for aiding banditry, recover rustled animals
The Katsina State Police Command has announced the successful arrest of two suspects involved in aiding and abetting banditry and the recovery of suspected rustled animals.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Yahaya, 35, and Muhammadu Ayatullahi, 25, both from Zandam village in Jibia LGA, were apprehended on Thursday near Magama cemetery in Jibia LGA.
They were found in possession of two suspected rustled rams, one sheep, and a goat.
In a statement signed by the Police Spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the arrests were made by a team of police operatives attached to Jibia divisional police headquarters during a routine patrol.

The patrol was conducted in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) and local hunters.
The suspects confessed to having received the rustled animals from a notorious bandit leader known as Nura, who is currently at large.
They admitted they were on their way to sell the animals at Magama Market in Jibia LGA.
The suspects also revealed that they had repeatedly received and disposed of rustled animals from the same bandit leader.
“Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect as the investigation proceeds,” the statement added.
