Police foil armed robbery in Abuja, kill 2 suspects, arrest others
In a swift response to an armed robbery attempt in Abuja’s Mabuchi area, the FCT Police Command successfully neutralized the threat, resulting in the deaths of two suspects and the arrest of two others.
The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the suspects, Joshua Godfrey (a.k.a. Dogo, 44) and Abdulsalam Mamuda (29), were part of the group that opened fire on police operatives during the robbery attempt.
The police managed to overpower the suspects, recovering a blue Toyota Matrix used by the gang.
The incident occurred on July 22, 2024, around 10:45 p.m., when the gang attempted to hijack a black Prado Jeep near Capital Hub in Jahi.
A subsequent gunfight resulted in the immediate neutralization of two suspects.

The two arrested individuals later led the police to recover another stolen vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included various weapons and mobile phones. FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth C. Igweh, reiterated the command’s dedication to ensuring public safety and urged residents to report suspicious activities via police emergency lines.
