Senate Committee applauds Gombe Teaching Hospital infrastructure upgrade
The Senate Committee on Health has applauded Dr. Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi, the chief medical director of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, for his efforts in upgrading the hospital’s infrastructure.
Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, the chairperson of the committee and a former deputy governor of Rivers State, expressed her satisfaction with the expansion work at the hospital, aimed at improving patient services.

During a recent oversight visit to the hospital in Gombe, Banigo praised Dr. Abdullahi’s dedication to enhancing the hospital’s facilities and acknowledged Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his healthcare initiatives, including the Gombe State Health Care Contributory Scheme (Go-Health), which ensures access to healthcare for all residents.
The committee has assured its commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities to address the issue of high electricity bills faced by federal health institutions across the country.
Dr. Abdullahi welcomed the committee’s support in resolving ongoing challenges at the hospital, specifically the issue of high electricity costs.
