Tragedy In Jigawa: Building collapse claims 3 lives
At least three people have been confirmed dead following a building collapse in Jigawa State. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, causing panic and grief among the residents.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the fatalities in a statement on Sunday.
He also revealed that four individuals sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
In a separate but related incident, violence erupted in the villages of Maikambu and Balalashe in Garki Local Government Area due to a suspected case of cattle rustling.
This led to the burning of five houses and injuries to six people. The unrest has heightened concerns about public safety and security in the region.
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the violence and are working diligently to restore order to the affected areas.
The authorities are also investigating the causes of the building collapse to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
These incidents have prompted calls for increased security measures and stricter building regulations in Jigawa State to ensure the safety of its residents.

The police command has urged individuals planning to organise protests from August 1 to August 10 to submit their itinerary in order to maintain peace and order during demonstrations.
