Carsley appointed as interim England manager
Lee Carsley, previously the manager of England’s under-21 team, has been appointed as the interim manager of the senior national team, the Three Lions. The English Football Association (FA) made the announcement on Friday.
Carsley will temporarily take charge of England during their upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Finland in September.

His tenure could be extended depending on how quickly the FA can appoint a permanent successor to Gareth Southgate, who recently stepped down from the role.
“The FA has yet to finalise a permanent replacement for Southgate, and Carsley’s role as interim manager could extend depending on the duration of the search for a new head coach.
The FA has reportedly identified several candidates for the permanent role, but the process of securing Southgate’s successor may take some time.”
