#EndBadGovernance organisers plan New Protest – ‘Fearless in October’

One of the organizers of the recently concluded #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protest, the Take It Back Movement, has hinted at plans for a new protest in October.

Recall that a large number of people participated in the last protest from various parts of the country to express their grievances and outline their demands.

Among the demands were: the abolition of the Senate and the conversion of law-making into a part-time job for the House of Representatives; an increase in the minimum wage for Nigerian workers to ₦250,000; a reversal of fuel prices and electricity tariffs to their pre-January 2023 levels; and the release and compensation of all EndSARS and political detainees.

According to Damilare Ademola, the Director of Mobilization for the Take It Back Movement, who confirmed the protest plans to journalists, the protesters’ demands will remain the same unless new issues arise that necessitate additional demands.

“Yes, it is called the ‘Fearless in October Protest.’ Our charter of demands remains the same. If necessary, we will add more as the country continues to deteriorate,” he said.
