Bandits in Kaduna kill village head, 2 others, abduct over 14

The village head of Gefe community in Kaduna State’s Kajuru Local Government Area, Emmanuel Idan, and two others were killed in a midnight attack by bandits on Thursday.

The attackers, who stormed the village in the Kufana chiefdom, targeted the residence of the village head, shooting him and another local resident dead, according to community leader Silas Musa.

During the same raid, the bandits abducted 14 villagers, taking them to an unknown location. The attack in Gefe is part of a series of violent incidents plaguing the area.

In a related development, bandits also attacked the Maro community within the same local government area. A middle-aged man was shot in both legs and tragically died on his way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in the Keke community of Millennium City, located in Kaduna’s Chikun Local Government Area, the wife and three children of a journalist were abducted. Bashir Mohammed, a journalist based in Kogi State, recounted that his family had just arrived in Kaduna for a holiday when the bandits struck. Eight other family members were also taken from their relatives’ home in Millennium City.

As of now, the Kaduna State Police authorities have yet to confirm these incidents.
