Bauchi gov’t provides temporary shelter to flood victims (pictures)

Heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding in Buskuri, Sabon Gari, and Uzum villages of Azare, the headquarters of Katagum local government area of Bauchi State, forcing residents to evacuate and seek shelter elsewhere.
The flood, which came with great intensity, affected over 500 residents, with many more expected to be displaced as the situation worsened.

The evacuated residents have relocated to the 500 housing estate owned by the state government as temporary residences.

The disaster has also caused significant damage to homes and businesses, with losses counting in millions.
The Bauchi State Government has sent relief materials like food items and other needed emergency items to the affected communities in order to ease their suffering.
