British Army begins recruitment for Nigerians, others

The British Army is launching a new recruitment campaign aimed specifically at Nigerians and other Commonwealth citizens.

The recruitment window will be open from August 19 to August 26, 2024.

The Army is looking for skilled individuals from Nigeria to fill a variety of roles, including musicians, engineers, technicians, tradespeople, and paratroopers.

Recognizing the valuable contributions of Commonwealth soldiers, the British Army encourages interested candidates to apply.

To be considered, applicants must submit their applications through the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, with the exception of those applying as musicians.

As part of the selection process, candidates will undergo several fitness tests, including the multistage fitness test (beep test), seated ball throw, and mid-thigh pull.

Reports suggest that to prepare, applicants should maintain a healthy lifestyle, which includes quitting smoking and following a balanced diet.

Successful candidates will need to travel to the United Kingdom (UK) for further assessment in October and November 2024. Basic training is set to begin between January and March 2025.
