National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives have apprehended Ibeanusi Solomon Nosike, a 36-year-old businessman from Onitsha, Anambra State, who excreted 68 wraps of cocaine following a 12-day observation period.

Nosike was arrested on August 8, 2024, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos as he attempted to board a flight to Abuja, where he was set to connect to a Qatar Airways flight bound for Vietnam.

According to NDLEA, Nosike had arrived in Lagos the previous day, swallowed the cocaine wraps, and was intercepted while preparing to board his early morning flight. He spent 12 days under surveillance, during which he expelled the cocaine pellets, weighing a total of 1.282 kilograms.

The agency also seized 14 packs of “Loud” cannabis, totaling 6.97 kilograms, from a group of female traffickers at the Seme border.

Further seizures include 1,596 cartons of codeine-based syrup valued at over N2 billion, recovered at Tincan seaport, and multiple arrests across various states for drug-related offenses.

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised the agency’s efforts and urged continued vigilance in combating drug abuse.
