Egypt stops airlines from flying over Iranian airspace for 3 hours
The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a notice to all Egyptian airlines not to fly over Iranian airspace due to military exercises that will be conducted in August.
According a statement on Wednesday, the Egyptian Ministry said that in light of the notification received from the relevant Iranian authorities regarding warnings directed to all civil aviation companies crossing over Iranian airspace, that military exercises will be conducted over the course of August 7 and 8, during the period from 11:30 am to 14:30 pm on 8/7/2024, and from 04:30 am to 07:30 am on 8/8/2024, Tehran time.

In order to ensure the safety of Egyptian aircraft passengers and in application of international standards in this regard, the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority has issued a notice to all Egyptian airlines not to fly over Iranian airspace during the aforementioned periods, to avoid any dangers that affect aviation safety.
