Flood cuts off Kano-Maiduguri highway, Gov. Mohammed seeks Federal intervention
A severe flood has heavily damaged the federal highway connecting Kano to Maiduguri, particularly between Malori and Guskuri villages in Bauchi State.
The flood has created a large crater in the road, disrupting traffic and forcing motorists to seek alternative routes.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed visited the affected area to assess the damage and stressed the highway’s importance as a critical link between Nigeria’s Northwest and Northeast regions.
He has called on the Federal Government to urgently repair the road to restore transportation for goods and services.

Governor Mohammed stated, “The Northeast highway’s dual carriageways have been completely washed away.
We are urging the federal government to address this issue promptly. If necessary, we will implement remedial measures as we did last rainy season.”
Bauchi State has experienced significant flooding this year, causing widespread destruction across multiple local government areas.
