Franco-British International Varsity set to launch academic activities in October – VC

Nigeria’s first Franco-British University, the Franco-British International University in Kaduna, is set to commence academic activities in October 2024.

This announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Muhammad Sabo, in a chat with journalists on Monday.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the university will start with three schools: the Schools of Computing, Nursing, and Health Sciences.

The Franco-British International University was founded by Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, who is also the founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Niger Republic and Canadian University in Abuja.

During the visit of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Professor Armayau Hamisu Bichi, Professor Adamu Gwarzo reiterated his passion and commitment to education, stating his dedication to advancing the sector.

He noted that in Nigeria, the “Franco-British International University (FBI) represents another effort to provide truly world-class education in Africa.”

The Franco-British International University was granted a provisional operational license by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023, alongside the Canadian University of Nigeria, which is also part of the MAAUN Group of Universities.

“I’m known for my commitment to education and will continue to uphold it. We have achieved this in Niger Republic and Kano. We have instilled a spirit of morality and high academic standards among our students and staff,” he said.

“We will ensure standards, discipline, and morality among the students and staff of Franco-British International University, as we have done in Kano and Niger,” said Professor Gwarzo.
