Friends mourn as bandits kill newly-wedded Army captain months after wedding

A captain in the Nigerian Army, Ibrahim Yibranii Yohana, from Kaduna State, was among the four soldiers killed by terrorists during an attack in Sokoto State.

The gunmen had during the weekend killed the four soldiers in Gudu Local Government Area of the state.

The officer, who married his wife, Jossy Happiness, on November 4, 2023, was killed by bandits nine months after the wedding.

Neptune Prime reports that the soldiers were ambushed along the Kukurau-Bangi Road while on patrol around 4pm on Saturday.

The attack was also said to have left two other soldiers injured and two operational vehicles of the military personnel were set on fire by the terrorists.

Since the news of his death broke, friends, colleagues, and family members have expressed their sorrows and sadness via social media with tributes to the fallen hero.

A friend, Genesis Kaboshio, Akau, among other friends and associates mentioned how the deceased joined the Nigerian Army after graduating from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

“Presido Commando, as he was popularly refered to joined the Nigerian Army from Maiduguri to Lagos and then Niger State where he rose to the rank of a captain before his demise,” the friends wrote on Facebook.
