Gunmen in Kaduna abduct journalist’s wife, daughters, 8 others
In a distressing turn of events, gunmen have abducted the wife and two daughters of Muhammed Bashir, a correspondent for New Telegraph based in Kogi State. The kidnapping took place on Thursday night in Kaduna, where Bashir’s family had travelled for a holiday.
According to Bashir, the abduction occurred at the family residence of his wife’s relatives in a Kaduna suburb. Alongside his wife and daughters, eight other members of the same family were also taken by the armed assailants. The gunmen have not yet contacted the family or demanded a ransom, heightening the concern and anxiety of those affected.

Bashir, who has communicated the dire situation to his colleagues through WhatsApp, expressed his distress, stating, “My wife and two of my daughters left Abuja for Kaduna on Thursday They were kidnapped at their family residence that same night. My dear colleagues, please, I need your prayers.”
The abduction has sparked widespread outrage and calls for action, with local authorities and security agencies urged to intensify their efforts in securing the release of the victims.
