Kamala Harris picks Tim Walz as running mate
Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the upcoming presidential election.
Although an official announcement is still pending, BBC partner in the U.S., CBS News has confirmed Walz’s selection.
If successful against Donald Trump in November, the former high school teacher will assume the role of vice president.

Walz has captured national attention with his distinctive strategy of referring to Trump and JD Vance as “weird,” a phrase that Harris has echoed when discussing her opponent.
The Harris campaign is optimistic that Walz’s down-to-earth demeanor and Midwestern roots will resonate with independent and conservative voters.
However, the Trump-Vance team has responded by labeling Walz a “dangerously liberal extremist.”
Harris is set to officially introduce Walz as her running mate at a rally in Philadelphia tonight, followed by a tour of key battleground states.
