MURIC demands explanation from Sokoto Govt. on Emir’s death in captivity

The statement from MURIC raises important questions about the circumstances surrounding the death of the Emir of Gobir, Alhaji Isa Bawa while in the hands of bandits.

The organisation is demanding an explanation from the government of Sokoto State and is calling for increased security measures to ensure the safety of traditional rulers in the region.

MURIC questions why it took three weeks for the Emir to be released or rescued, and criticizes the security agencies for their handling of the situation.

They also express concern for the safety of other emirs in the state and call for increased protection for the Sultan of Sokoto and other traditional rulers.

The organisation urges the federal government, Chief of Army Staff, and Inspector General of Police to pay special attention to Sokoto State and to take necessary steps to address the evolving threats posed by bandits in the region.
