The Neptune Prime staff paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrisa CON, CFR, Emir of Fika, at his Potiskum palace.
The Emir, having just returned from a trip, welcomed the staff with great hospitality. During the visit, His Royal Highness addressed the staff, urging Nigerian youth to champion peace and unity. He highlighted the crucial need for a collective effort to tackle insecurity and drive national development.
“The youth are the bedrock of our nation’s future,” the Emir stated. “They must reject violence and insecurity and instead focus on fostering a peaceful and united society.”

The Emir also encouraged young people to pursue self-empowerment through skill acquisition, recommending practical skills over traditional white-collar jobs. He emphasised that adhering to the law is not only a civic duty but also a patriotic act.
A Brief History of the Fika Emirate
Established in the 15th century, the Fika Emirate boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. The Bole people, having embraced Islam, migrated from Daniski to Potiskum in 1805. The emirate’s administrative centre was moved from Fika town to Potiskum in 1924.
Dr. Muhammad Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrisa succeeded his late father, Alhaji Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrisa, who passed away in 2009. The late Emir, who was 77 at the time of his death, left a substantial legacy with four wives and over 40 children.
The reorganisation of emirates in Yobe State in 2000 increased their number from four to thirteen, a change initially contested by the Emir of Fika but eventually accepted. A potential conflict between the Fika and Potiskum emirates in 2009-2010 was resolved with the intervention of the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’adu Abubakar.
