NFF confirms signing of German coach Labbadia to lead Super Eagles
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalised an agreement to secure the signing of Bruno Labbadia as the new Super Eagles Coach.
A high-ranking official, speaking anonymously, emphasised the nation’s strong desire for a coach of Labbadia’s calibre who can bring positive change to the Super Eagles team.
The official confirmed that negotiations with the German tactician have been successfully completed, and Labbadia is set to take over as the next Super Eagles Coach. Born on 8 February 1966, Labbadia is a well-respected figure in football, having had a successful playing career as a striker and winning trophies with clubs like 1. FC Kaiserslautern and FC Bayern Munich.
Transitioning into coaching, Labbadia has managed various clubs, including Darmstadt 98 and most recently VfB Stuttgart in the 2022/23 season.

With his experience and expertise, he is expected to bring a fresh approach to coaching the Super Eagles and lead them to success on the international stage.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to play Benin Republic on 7th September and Rwanda three days later in the 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier, marking the potential debut of Labbadia as the team’s new coach.
