Pastor bags 8 years jail term for raping church member during deliverance

Apostle Desmond Eke, the founder of Deliverance Ministry of The Good Shepherd in Umuihita Avu, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, has been sentenced to 8-years imprisonment for raping a church member’s wife during deliverance.

Justice T.N Nzeukwu of the Imo State High Court sentenced the culprit on 31st July 2024.

Pastor Desmond was said to have raped the 25-year-old victim, a mother of four children, under the guise of delivering her from marine spirits, which he claims will wipe out her family.

Reports from the prosecution showed that Eke administered a substance on the victim in the guise of holy water and anointing oil, which had a soporific effect on the woman, and she woke up to find the pastor having sex with her.

According to reports, when she tried to fight him off, the pastor told her his semen was essential in liberating her and destroying the chains of her spirit husband and other marine spirits.
