Sports Minister to investigate, punish officials for Nigeria’s poor performance at 2024 Paris Olympics
The Minister of Sports, Mr John Enoh, said he will investigate and hold officials accountable for Nigeria’s poor performance at the just concluded 2024 Paris Olympics.
The minister said that some government officials will face the consequences if investigations reveal that they contributed to Nigeria’s disappointing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s programme, Enoh disclosed that he will thoroughly examine all aspects of the team’s performance and hold those responsible accountable.

Mr Enoh stressed that he will not hesitate to take action if his investigations reveal that individuals were negligent or performed poorly.
The minister further explained the need for comprehensive reforms in the country’s sporting federations to achieve efficient sports development.
However, he apologised to Nigerians for the team’s poor performance and criticised the leadership of sporting federations for their lackluster contribution.

Enoh believed that there’s need to put into place systems and structures that would identify and support talented athletes, enabling them to secure medals in future competitions.
