Tinubu utilising political position to advance his business interests at federal level like Lagos– Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu, his family, and associates of holding the destiny of Nigerians hostage.
He asserts that even after Tinubu’s term, breaking free from their influence will be extremely challenging.
Atiku, the former Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), likened Tinubu’s intertwining of his business ventures with Lagos’ public affairs to his endeavours at the national level.
In a statement released by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed surprise at the activities of the NNPC and criticised the perceived takeover of its retail arm by OVH, partially owned by Oando led by Wale Tinubu.
He lamented that his plans to privatise NNPC and enhance transparency were overshadowed by what he perceives as usurpation of the corporation by corporate interests associated with the current president.
The intricate deal involving the acquisition of OVH by NNPC Retail, and subsequently by Wale Tinubu’s Oando, raised eyebrows for Atiku.
He accused President Tinubu of orchestrating illogical business transactions, preventing NNPC from operating as a public liability company as outlined by the PIA.
Though the NNPC and its executives are subject to legislative scrutiny, Atiku questioned the credibility of the process, citing the vested interests of individuals leading the investigation, particularly Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.
He expressed doubts about a thorough investigation that might implicate Tinubu, considering Bamidele’s allegiance to him.

Atiku also highlighted the controversy surrounding the legal dispute over the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, linking Tinubu’s son, Seyi, and contractor Gilbert Chagoury.
He raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the lack of competitive bidding in major infrastructure projects approved under Tinubu’s influence.
Atiku concluded by implying that Tinubu’s desires seem to be swiftly realised without adherence to due process.
