Tottenham signs Solanke in club-record £65m deal from Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur has made a significant addition to their squad ahead of the new Premier League season by securing the signing of striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. The deal, which could reach a total value of £65 million ($83 million), marks a club-record transfer for both Spurs and Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old striker, who has agreed to a six-year contract, will cost Tottenham an initial £55 million, with an additional £10 million in potential add-ons. Solanke, who began his career at Chelsea and had a brief stint at Liverpool, joined Bournemouth in 2019. He enjoyed his best season yet in 2023/24, scoring 19 Premier League goals and solidifying his reputation as a top striker.
Bournemouth’s chief executive, Neill Blake, confirmed that Solanke’s contract included a release clause in the region of £65 million, making this transfer the highest sale in the club’s history, surpassing the £40 million received from Manchester City for Nathan Ake in 2020.

Blake praised Solanke’s development during his time at Bournemouth, crediting the player’s hard work and the club’s supportive environment for nurturing young talent. “We’re pleased to secure a club-record fee for Dominic, and he leaves with everyone’s sincere well wishes at AFC Bournemouth,” Blake said.
For Tottenham, the signing of Solanke is a crucial move as they look to bolster their attack following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich last year. The club had opted not to replace Kane immediately, but with Solanke’s arrival, they hope to regain their place in the UEFA Champions League after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season.
Solanke is expected to make his first appearance for Spurs in a friendly match against Bayern Munich at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
