Troops arrest suspected terrorists in Taraba, recover arms
Troops from the 6 Brigade have made significant arrests in Taraba State, capturing seven suspected terrorists and recovering a range of weapons and stolen goods in recent operations.
On August 7, 2024, troops at Kambari, acting on intelligence about bandits targeting a Fulani settlement in Katlong Village, engaged the attackers. The clash led to the arrest of Yusuf Musa, found with an AK-47 rifle and 20 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 118 cattle were recovered and returned to their owners.
Earlier, on August 6, troops intercepted suspected bandits en route to Mashingi Village. Four individuals—Yusuf Hassan, Mohammed Mamman, Haruna Iliya, and Hammadu Shaibu—were arrested with a motorcycle, mobile phones, and 57,000 Naira in cash.

On August 9, troops acted on a tip-off about suspects amassing machetes for potential unrest in Jalingo Local Government Area. Two suspects, Umar Zubairu and Issah Abdullahi, were apprehended with 436 machetes and other equipment.
Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa praised the troops for their effective response and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to ensuring safety and collaborating with other security agencies to combat crime in Taraba State. The suspects will be handed over to the authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
