13-year-old schoolgirl kills teachers in bid to become ‘celebrity’

In an attempt to become well-known, a 13-year-old female in the UK is said to have used a fishing knife to stab two teachers and a student.

The youngster, whose age prevents her from being identified, is alleged to have brought her father’s fishing knife into school with the goal of killing Fiona Elias, the 48-year-old assistant head teacher.

Liz Hopkin, a 53-year-old special needs teacher, and Elias were allegedly wounded by her before she fled the school and stabbed a female student.

After being taken into custody, the girl asked the police if the victims had passed away and said, “That’s one way to be a celebrity.” She also made other unsettling remarks.

Her bedroom had notes she had written about burning and cutting people.

The girl had previously brought a knife to school and had been searched every morning, according to testimony given during the ongoing trial.

Despite daily checks by the school and her father to ensure she didn’t have any blades in her bag, she brought the fishing knife into class the morning of the incident.

Horrifying CCTV footage of the crime, which shows the girl stabbing the two instructors on a walkway outside the school’s lower hall, has also been revealed to the court.

The youngster has admitted to three counts of wounding with intent to cause great bodily harm and possessing a bladed instrument, but she has denied three counts of attempted murder.

Prosecutor William Hughes KC said: “In the rear of a police car she made a number of significant comments. “Among them she said: ‘I suppose things like this don’t happen very often. Are they dead?’ ” ‘I’m pretty sure this is going to be on the news so more eyes will be looking at me. That’s one way to be a celebrity.’ ”
