APC’s Monday Okpebholo declared winner of Edo governorship election
Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged victorious in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.
According to the results from 18 local government areas (LGAs) announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes. His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,655 votes.

Olumide Akpata, representing the Labour Party (LP), finished third, receiving a total of 22,763 votes.
Okpebholo emerged victorious among 17 candidates, securing wins in the following areas:
Esan
West
Owan West
Egor
Akoko-Edo
Esan Central
Orhionmwon
Etsako East
Etsako Central
Etsako West
Oredo.
