Defence chief rewards 24 soldiers with ₦1 million for killing notorious terrorist Sububu
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has gifted N₦1 million to 24 Nigerian soldiers who participated in the elimination of wanted terrorist leader, Habibu Sububu.
Neptune Prime reports that Sububu was killed alongside dozens of his fighters by the Nigerian troops on September 12 in Kwaren Kirya, a community under Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sububu is an indigene of Niger Republic but stayed in a forest in Zamfara State, and often escaped to Niger Republic after perpetrating evil in Nigeria.
Aside being a notorious gunrunner, Sububu also owned a thriving illegal gold mining operation in Bagega and other communities around Sumke forest in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

While commending the gallant troops for the remarkable feat, General Musa announced a cash gift of ₦1 million to the 24 soldiers.
This financial gesture has been greeted with mixed reactions, while some people commended his kind-heartedness, others argued that the money to be received by each soldier will be too small.
