Dog meat seller goes missing with neighbor’s 6-month-old son
A dog meat seller identified as Erica has reportedly fled with a neighbor’s six-month-old baby boy. The incident occurred on Aneke Lane in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, last Sunday.
Erica, a man in his mid-30s from Akwa Ibom State, has disappeared with the child, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
It was reported that a person named Erica had been living in the compound for two months and is involved in killing and selling dog meat in front of the place where he lives.
Hope Sunday, the mother of the missing child, narrated on Monday that her neighbor, who absconded with her baby, is nowhere to be found.
Hope explained that she had come outside to wash some dirty clothes when Erica offered to help her by carrying her little boy. She added that Erica then moved away with the baby.
“My baby’s name is Lucky Sunday. He is six months old, almost seven months. I live at Anekelane No. 25, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt,” Hope said.
“I wanted to wash some clothes, and he (Erica) came over and said I should let him carry my baby to help me. I gave him the baby because he liked to hold him.
“While I was getting my other children to go inside and sleep, he sat on the chair holding my baby. By the time I went back outside, I didn’t see him anymore.
“I asked a woman nearby if she had seen my neighbor with my baby, and she said he hadn’t gone far. I also asked a man, and he told me to check the lotto office, saying Erica wanted to charge his phone there.
“I ran to the lotto office, but I didn’t find him. To this day, I have not seen my neighbor or my baby. His name is Erica, and he is my neighbor. I have reported the incident to the police.”
However, the police in the state have not issued an official statement regarding the situation, but Hope disclosed that she reported the incident to the Azikiwe Police Division at Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
