Flood destroys another major federal road in Yobe

Residents have been left stranded after a heavy downpour damaged another federal road in Yobe State.

The affected road links Damaturu to Gujba and Gulani Local Government Areas, as well as Biu, Hawul, Shani, Kwaya Kusar and Gombi local government areas in Borno and Adamawa States.

The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, September 3 near Katarko village, a distance of about 20 kilometres away from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

Mustapha Babagana, who was travelling to Biu for business told newsmen that he had to return to Damaturu and take another route through Gombe State, a distance of 380 kilometres before reaching his destination.
