State governor approves work free days over fuel price hike
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved an additional day off per week for public servants in response to the rising fuel prices.
Officers on Grade Levels 01-14 will now enjoy two days off, while those on Grade Levels 15-17 will maintain one day off weekly.
The announcement was made by the State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, who explained that the initiative aims to ease the commuting challenges workers face due to the fuel price hike.

The gesture is expected to provide substantial relief and boost productivity by ensuring a more motivated workforce.
Onasanya emphasised Governor Abiodun’s strong commitment to workers’ welfare and directed accounting officers in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to promptly implement the new policy without compromising service delivery.
In July 2023, Governor Abiodun introduced a one-day off work policy for all grade levels. The latest extension to two days off for Grade Levels 01-14 further addresses the financial burden on workers while promoting increased productivity.
