Governor Bala appoints 68-year-old Haruna as new Emir of Ningi

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi. The appointment, which confers a 1st Class status on the new Emir, follows the death of his father, the former Emir of Ningi.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Comrade Mukhtar Muhammad Gidado, confirmed the decision, stating that it was made in accordance with Cap. 24, Item 3 (1) of the Bauchi State laws (Appointment of Emirs/Chiefs and Deposition 1991), as well as the recommendations of the kingmakers. The appointment was formally conveyed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim.
The Bauchi State Government expressed confidence in the ability of the new Emir, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, to uphold and continue the legacy of his late father by fostering unity, peace, and development within the Ningi Emirate and the state at large. The statement further emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions, acknowledging their vital role in maintaining peace and progress in local communities.
Governor Bala Mohammed extended his condolences on the passing of the late Emir, offering prayers for his peaceful repose. He also expressed warm felicitations to the new Emir, praying for his good health, long life, and a successful reign.
Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, who was born in Ningi in 1956, served as the immediate past Chiroman Ningi before his appointment as Emir. He is married and has children.
