Maulud Nabiy: Kano declares Monday public holiday

The Kano State Government has declared Monday, 23rd September 2024, a public holiday to mark the 7th day of Maulud Nabiy, a commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This announcement was made in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, on Friday.

Governor Abba Yusuf, through the statement, encouraged the Muslim community to reflect deeply on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing that his life offers timeless lessons on promoting peace, justice, humility, and compassion in both personal and communal life.

“The Prophet’s teachings are a beacon of mercy and righteousness that should be integrated into everyday life,” the governor stated.
